Steve Verghsese scored a hat-trick to power Shastri Nagar SC to an emphatic 6-0 victory over Dahisar United Boy’s in a Third Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2013-14, at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Sunday. John Ferreira, Sumeet Khanna and Rinaldo Fernandes contributed with a goal each to complete the rout.
In another match played at the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) ground, Dhobitalao, Ruffians FC overcame Athletic Rovers by a close 1-0 margin. Shannon Ferro netted the lone winning goal.
In two other matches, Jagruti FC drew with Kalina Young Stars 1-1 and IIT Powai ‘B’ also shared the spoils with Catallians FC by an identical 1-1 margin.
