The Western Indian Football Association (WIFA) plans to continue with the remaining WIFA Women’s Football League/IWL qualifiers from February 1.
The league has been put on hold from 10 January 2022 following the revised COVID-19 guidelines of the Government of Maharashtra. The state government had advised suspension of all sports events except national and international level events.
Mumbai’s PIFA Sports are yet to lose a game and are comfortably sitting at the top of the table. Thane’s S.P Football Academy and Pune-based Krida Prabhodhini have 12 points each, but the former is in the second spot with a better goal difference. Mumbai’s Footie First and Kenkre FC are at the fourth and fifth positions respectively. At the bottom of the table, Pacangan FC is ranked 8th while Pune’s Snigmay FC is ranked 9th. Palghar-based Next Sports Academy is at the bottom of the table without registering a single win in the campaign so far.
A total of 18 matches are left in the completion of the league. These matches will conclude over the course of 9 days with 4 non-match days.
