The 22 year old Jewel Raja Shaikh was born in Kolkata. He is a central midfielder for Mohun Bagan.
Club Career
He started his career playing for the Pailan Arrows in the 2010-11 Season. On July 25 2011 it was announced that Jewel Raja would sign for Mohun Bagan. On October 23, 2011 Raja got an assist for Bagan’s 2nd goal against his former club Pailan Arrows. He then scored his first goal for Bagan in the club’s 5-1 victory over Mumbai F.C. on November 6 2011.
International Career
Jewel scored his first goal for the Indian U-23 against Singapore at the 2010 Asian games. On February 23rd 2011 he played his second game for the Indian U-23 against Myanmar. He also made his debut and scored his first goal for the India National football team in India’s 3-0 victory over Chinese Taipei on March 21st 2011 after coming on as a substitute.
After being named in the SAFF Cup squad, he will now look to help India defend their crown.
