Pioneer Residency pulled off a narrow 1-0 win against a spirited Millat SC ‘B’ in a Third Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League – 2012-13, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Tuesday.
After the first half failed to produce a goal, striker Mohammed Adil struck the lone goal of the match immediately after the change of ends. Millat tried their best to net the equalizer, but all their efforts went in vain.
In another clash of the same division, Soccer Club of Chincholi outplayed Islamic Social Organisation winning by a comfortable 2-0 margin. Peter Kurien and Leon Gay with a goal each were the goal scorers for the victors.
Meanwhile, Das Football Academy and Koral FC shared honours and two points as they played out a 1-1 draw. Avi Babadiya was on target for Das FA, while Koral scored through Tanveer Shaikh.
