Maverick Sports Club were in prime form as they handed SJU Mandal a 5-0 defeat in a Third Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League – 2012-13, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Tuesday.
Dictating terms and scoring at regular intervals, Maverick got their goals through Aditya Paranjape and Rahul Pandit both striking two goals each and one from Karan Gandhi.
Earlier, Sunday Boy’s Under-19 overcame Maharashtra Mitra Mandal by a slender 1-0 margin. Rahul Patel netted the winning goal for the Sunday Boys.
In another match, Franco SC riding of goals from Dustin D’Costa and Akshay Salian blanked Jeevan Dhara FC 2-0.
