The first Inter-District Football Championship, organized by Western India Football Association (WIFA), of the year, is all set to go underway in Palghar District from 16th January 2019. Last season, Jalgaon hosted the Sub-Junior Girls Championship where Mumbai District emerged as the Champions after defeating Pune District 4-0 in the final.
This year, the responsibility is handed over to Palghar District to conduct the Inter-District Sub-Junior Girls Championship where a whopping 28 Districts are set to participate in what is a knockout format tournament.
Last year, Mumbai’s Sai Sankhe won the best defender award, Neha Gamare (Mumbai) won the best goalkeeper award, Bhumika Mane won the player of the tournament award and Pune’s Swara Pathak received the top scorer award. Meanwhile, the hosts, Jalgaon won the fair-play award.
