The India U-16 Preparatory Camp for AFC U-16 Final Phase to be held in September 2012 in presently on in Goa under the watchful eyes of Mr. Colm Toal, Head Coach, Youth Development. India had qualified for the final phase in September 2011 in Tashkent when they finished second in the Group where Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan stayed the other teams.
In a practice match at the Cuncolim Ground, the U-16 colts defeated the U-18 Brazilian Football Academy 8-0. Rupert Nongrum scored a hat-trick while Daniel Lalhlimpuia scored a brace. Sarthak Golui, Kamalpreet Singh and Klins Mendes scored one each.
