Chheda Nagar produced a splendid, solid combined performance to inflict a 3-0 defeat on a listless Immaculate Conception (IC) United, in a Division-III play-off match, of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) league, played at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Thursday afternoon. The victors, who dominated play throughout the proceedings, enjoyed a solitary 1-0 lead at the end of the first session.
The feature of Chheda Nagar’s victory was a brace by striker Sudhir Hola. He was well supported by teammate Arjit Deb, who got the other goal.
In another Div-III play-off contest, Blitzkrieg FC put it across Millat FC 3-2 via the penalty shootout, which was resorted to after both teams failed to break the goalless deadlock during regulation time.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Blitzkrieg did well to convert three attempts from the penalty spot through Sashank Raorane, Alim Siddique and Bosco Pereira. Millat FC, were only able to find success through Umar Farooq and Farhad Salim.
