Anjuman Islam had things very much under control as they eased to a fluent 2-0 win against Alfresco FC in a Third Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League – 2012-13, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Sunday.
Dictating terms from the outset, Anjuman scored through the efforts of Shahajan Siddique and Aquib Shaikh to garner all the three points.
In another match of the same division, Shambu FC steered by Akshay Sonawane’s lone strike overcame Sports Gurukul by a narrow 1-0 margin.
Meanwhile, Stallion SC riding on a double strike from Oliver Bennis got the better of Rising Star 5-2 in a high scoring encounter. 2, Aaron D’Souza, Abhay Rawat and Unni Rawat got the other goals for the winners. Aditya Sharma netted both the goals for the losers.
