The Football Association of Gadhinglaj organized the AIFF Grassroots Leaders Course at Gadhinglaj from 10th to 12th June 2017 with help of Western India Football Association and Mumbai City FC.
30 Coaches participated from Gadhinglaj and Belgaum region. Uno candidate traveled from Visakhapatnam to attend the course.
Mr. Raman Vijayan, Ex International player was present for the opening ceremony of the course.
Mr. Raman said “I am happy to attend the AIFF Grassroots Course here in Gadhingalaj. AIFF is doing fantastic work for the Grassroots development across the country. The course will help to identify good coaches and through them we can nurture better players. This region is having great footballing history and very passionate people. I wish everyone good luck”.
Mr. Kiran Chougle, Assistant Secretary, WIFA was present for the opening ceremony. Mr. Kiran thanked AIFF for spreading the Grassroots program in small cities and rural areas where we can tap more talent.
The course which was conducted by AIFF Grassroots Instructor Ms. Anju Turambekar who was delighted with the preparations at Shivraj College, Gadhinglaj. The Course was engineered to tutor the participants in AIFF’s Grassroots philosophy in tune with FIFA and AFC’s Grassroots philosophy.
Through practical and theory sessions participants understood the importance of redefined Grassroots football and how to develop children through football in their region. Also participants learned the significance of organizing Baby leagues.
Mr. Sayed Ameen from Belgaum said “we were not aware about the importance of Grassroots development before but this course taught us so much and we all are very much inspired now and we all passionate coaches wants to produce better players in future”.
Mr. Imran Banadar from Gadhinglaj said “we thank AIFF and WIFA for giving this course. In such rural areas we have passionate and hardworking coaches but we don’t have well experienced and knowledgeable coaches. This course helped us tremendously to become better coach and better role model for the players.
On last day coaches conducted the festival with 100 players, witnessed by their parents, PI from Gadhinglaj and also many football enthusiast. Coaches were awarded with AIFF Grassroots certificates for their efforts.
