Over 28 participants from 15 States are participating in the ongoing AIFF D Licence Instructors Course in Goa. The Course is being conducted by AIFF Technical Director Mr. Scott O’Donnell.
The Course which kicked-off on Tuesday (September 1) is being organized and hosted by the Goa Football Association.
Salim Pathan, Marcellus John Aleckal and Dennis George has been selected from Maharashtra to take part in the course. They are all AFC ‘B’ License Coaching Certificate holders.
Salim Pathan was the Asst. Coach at Chennaiyan FC in the Indian Super League last year as they crashed out in the semi-final stage against Atletico de Kolkata. He is right now working with AIYFA, Pune which is an academy for young talent.
Marcellus John Aleckal is the Sports Co-ordinator at The Aditya Birla World Academy and works towards developing young talent in and around Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Dennis George is the Coach at Central Railway and also runs a local football club in Thane, Maharashtra.
Scott O’Donnell, a Pro-Licence holder, stressed on the significance of the Course.
“Nowadays, it’s compulsory for Participants to undergo the AIFF D Licence before they can apply for the AFC C Certificate,” O’Donnell informed.
“The State FA’s having their own Instructors will make it easier for them to conduct their own AIFF D Licence Courses without having to ask for instructors from other States,” he stated.
The Course concludes on September 5, 2015.
