Afghan national soccer team for the first time in its football history successfully reached the finals in South Asian Football Federation after defeating Nepal by 1-0 in the semi-finals.
During the additional time Afghanistan forwarder Bilal Arzoo managed to hit the first goal ensuring Afghanistan national soccer team to reach the final.
The match was taken to extra minutes after the two teams failed to produce a goal.
Nepal should have done well and surged ahead when from a Rohit Chand volley, Santhosh Khala’s hit on the rebound is almost on its way in before the goalkeeper makes the save in the 17th minute while Afghanistan played a defending role during the first 30 minutes of the first round.
Afghan player Mohammad Israfil was also given a yello card during the first round of the match after commiting a foul.
During the second round of the matches Nepal team once again started an aggressive match where the Afghan team was threatened following a corner and a free shot but the Afghan goal keeper played well to defend the goal.
Meanwhile Sanjar Ahmadi during the 75th minute of the match got the chance to hit a goal which was then failed.
It was in the 101st minute that saw a moment of brilliance from Sanjar Ahmadi as he drew three Nepali defenders toward himself and backheeled to release Arezou who made no mistake from inside the box to find the back of the net after having run a good 20 yards.
