Maharashtra beat Chhatisgarh 9-1 in their opening game of the Senior Women’s National Championship in Bokaghat, Assam yesterday.
Maharashtra took the lead in the first half and went on to score 5 goals before the half time whistle with Nikita (2), Hiba (1) & Pooja getting on the scoresheet. Chhatisgarh managed to pull a goal back in the first half.
Maharashtra continued to dominate in the second half and went on to score four more goals with Hiba (2) Nikita & getting on the scoresheet.
Coach Severin Godinho was please with the team’s performance, “We played a very good game today and I am happy with the team’s commitment. We will definitely look to improve in the next game”
They take on Railways in their second game on 3rd May 2014.
