Showing good understanding and excellent teamwork, Franco Sports Club rolled to an overwhelming 7-0 win against a lacklustre Buddy XI in a Third Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League – 2012-13, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel, on Tuesday evening.
Consistent goal scorer Dustin D’Costa and Harshal Chavan netted a brace each, while Dominic Fernandes, Aniket K and Alex Fernandes contributed with a goal apiece.
Earlier in a closely fought encounter, Rhema Sports Foundation waged a grim battle before they got the better of debutantes Sea Siders by a narrow 3-2 margin. Relin Vaz played a key role as he fired home two goals and Dinesh Joshi added the third for the victors. Nautiyal Ankit and R Singh helped the losers stay in the fight.
