Showing good understanding in both attack and defence, Rehma Sports Foundation got the better of Kapadia Nagar SC 3-1 in a keenly contested Third Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League – 2012-13, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Thursday.
Leading by example, captain Shahnawaz Varunkar gave Rehma a bright start by scoring the opening goal in the first half. Later Relin Vaz added two more to ensure Rehma snatched a win and took the three points.
In another match of the same division, Parsn FC blanked Koli Samaj 2-0. Nitesh Pathare and Mukund Ambekar were bang on target for the winners.
Later in a Second Division encounter, Tata Power overcame MMC by a narrow 1-0 margin. Osson Machado scored the winner for the Tata outfit.
